The Moon World of Zhuozhen looks entirely barren. The badland extends all the way to Neimen and Tianliao of Kaohsiung. The view is astounding, but at different hours of a day, it shows a different face, as if it were an ink painting.

The place got its name from the fact that it looks like the surface of the Moon. The badland is mainly situated in Tsaoshan, Erliao and Ganglin. People come to the Moon World to watch Sunrise, however.

Its Erliao Observatory offers an overview of a misty valley, making it the best spot for watching Sunrise. The light and clouds in the sky seem to change at every minute in the morning. The best months to visit here and take photos are April, May, June, July, August and September. After the rain, it becomes more likely to see magnificent views.
