Introduction
Located next to Dapu Lovers Park, Dapu Visitor Information Station is famous for its pink exterior and various rose installations. The unparalleled view of the Tsengwen Reservoir nearby attracts many people to visit. Besides the girly exterior, the Information station has tourism information about Dapu. It also displays and experiences courses that combine local characteristics.
Dapu Visitor Information Station is a place with Love because of the Red Flower.
Formerly known as Red Garden (Honghuayuan), the name of the Dapu Visitor Information Station comes from a love story between a Tsou girl, Red Flower (Honghua), and a Han youth. At the time, the situation between the two ethnic groups was tense. Red Flower used arrows to warn before the conflict broke out, avoiding unnecessary tragedy. It saved the Dapu Village from casualties, but no one has heard from Red Flower since, so people renamed Red Garden to commemorate Red Flower. The Dapu Visitor Information Station used bright red roses as the design theme to record this historical story.
You can take photos with many huge rose installations when you come here. From the bright red roses at the entrance of the information station to the rose bouquet on the grassland, rose perfume, and Red Garden postcards, there are also many love-themed statues of Sayun and Dakalang. Each one is beautiful, and everyone takes pictures with them in passing. You definitely cannot miss it when you come here!
Dapu Visitor Information Station to let you admire violins
If you walk into the visitor information station, you will be impressed by the many violins! Yi-Hao Wu, the village chief of the Dapu Heping Community, invited violin worker Sheng-Yan Huang to serve as the village residency artist to give rural children the opportunity to learn music. Mr. Huang taught local children to play the violin and used driftwood from the nearby Tsengwen Reservoir to make unique violins, successfully turning Dapu into a violin village.
Currently, in addition to appreciating driftwood violins, the visitor information station also features various violin artworks, such as washboard violins and biscuit iron box violins, which are very amusing. If you are interested, you can also sign up for a violin-making class and make the most unique violin in the world!
