Travel tips

The museum is just across the road from Lingding Park, and the museum is free to visit, so you can take a side trip together.

There is a five-sense experience area in the museum where you can feel the unique personality revealed by each type of wood.

Introduction
The small but beautiful Taiwan Wood Story Museum was originally staff dormitory for the Forest Management Department, built in 1946, and completed renovation in 2019 to open to the public as the Taiwan Wood Story Museum. Through "Wood," "Utensil," "Tool" content curation, and six major exhibition areas, the static exhibition combines AR technology and five-sense experiences to give life to Taiwan's wood culture stories.

The building is a traditional Japanese wooden structure, with exteriors featuring rain boards, lattice windows, roof tiles, etc. The interior building materials are mainly cypress; one spiral-shaped main pillar inside the house integrates with the interior structure. The pillar rotates irregularly and has natural patterns of plants, which is quite unique.

The space inside the museum is not large, but the content is rich. Walking inside, you can smell the aroma of wood. The six major exhibition areas include the more static Taiwan-produced materials knowledge area, certification mark knowledge area, traditional hand tools knowledge area, as well as the interesting five-sense experience area, creative furniture context area, and DIY experience area.
