Longhuyan, located by Coral Lake, is also known as Chihshanyan, and was traditionally called "Yanlonghuan". It was built in 1665, and has over 300 years of history. It is Lioujia's most famous ancient temple.
With the mountains in the background, and the water in the forefront, a piece of flat land protrudes from the mountains, three sides of which are surrounded by water, looking like a miniature island.
When the sun sets and the moon rises in the east, the breeze gently blows and the moon shines on the lake. Some lovely, exquisite scenes are formed, giving it the traditional name of "the Eight Sights of the Dragon Lake". This very prosperous temple is the religious center of Lioujia Vil..
According to tradition, it was built by Chen Yong-hua during the Ming Dynasty. In front of the temple is a stone with a carved inscription commemorating an endowment, dating back to the early nineteenth century. Behind the temple, one can relax along the shady green walkways, and enjoy the peace and quiet, far from the tumult of this world.
