Today (9/14), the Tourism Administration of the Ministry of Transportation and Communications and 19 hot spring areas across Taiwan held the "2024-2025 Taiwan Hot Spring Annual Launch Ceremony" at Guanziling Lingding Park. Many guests attended the event, including Deputy Director Ting-Chang Chou of the Tourism Administration of the Ministry of Transportation and Communications, Director Zhen-Neng Xu of the Siraya National Scenic Area Headquarters, Executive Director Mi-Shan Liu of the Yunlin-Chiayi-Tainan Joint Service Office of the Executive Yuan, Director Guo-Hua Lin of the Bureau of Tourism of Tainan City Government, Director Masashi Oku of the Japan-Taiwan Exchange Association, Kaohsiung Office, Chairman Ji-Tian Lee of the Hot Spring Tourism Association Taiwan and his directors and supervisors, Chairman Xian-Tang Lin of the Tainan City Hot Springs Association and chairmen and representatives of hot spring associations in various districts, Chairman Seong-Guk Kim of the Korean Hot Spring Association, Director Keisuke Fukushima of the Overseas Travel Business Department of the Japan HIS Personal Travel Business Headquarters, and the Tainan Siraya Tourism Industry Association, totaling more than 250 guests. Moreover, the launching ceremony invited the Taiwan Tourism Promotion Ambassador, OhBear, who is loved by both children and adults, to attend and wear a smock handmade by local craftsmen this year. This year, the Tourism Administration specially invited the famous artist Sabrina (Jia-Qi) Pai to host the event, and the Tendrum Art Percussion Group opened the show with a stunning performance, announcing the official launch of Taiwan Hot Spring 2024-2025. At the same time, the Administration also arranged for well-known Catwalk Entertainment models to conduct a smock catwalk show and invited Bernice (Meng-Zi) Zhao to be the Key Star. The models wore smocks made entirely by hand by local craftsmen, and the guests wore special handmade smocks dyed with tea, vanilla, indigo, hot spring mud, and betel nut, showcasing the rich product characteristics of the Siraya region. This year's launch ceremony called on all 19 major hot spring areas in northern, central, southern, and eastern Taiwan to participate and combine creative experiences and booth displays such as "domestic industries in the Great Siraya Tourism Union" and "plant dyeing DIY." Additionally, the exchange dinner featured high-end banquet dishes rich in mountain products and seafood, integrating the diverse characteristics of the Siraya region, kicking off this year's Taiwan Hot Spring event!
According to Deputy Director Ting-Chang Chou of the Tourism Administration of the Ministry of Transportation and Communications, "Taiwan Hot Spring" has reached its 17th year as a brand for international marketing in Taiwan. This year, the Tourism Administration of the Ministry of Transportation and Communications specially invited HIS to Taiwan promote international exchanges and publicity, aiming to deepen the global market and work together to enhance Taiwan's tourism glory.
Regarding domestic tourism, the Ministry of Transportation and Communications Tourism Administration launched the Staycation plan to encourage people to take short-distance, one-day trips on weekends. Combined with the promotion of intelligent scenic spots, this plan allows everyone to easily explore 19 hot spring areas across Taiwan and enjoy the fun of hot springs. They can also connect with other tourist attractions in the region. For example, after riding a bicycle to visit the hot spring area, people can go to the hot springs. Such activities promote metabolism, improve physical fitness, and make people healthier. This way of traveling,which combines exercise and relaxation, benefits both body and mind and supports local tourism development.
This year, the Tourism Administration broke the previous implementation model. It promoted Taiwan's hot springs by marketing the entire region, starting in the southern region, and then connecting hot spring areas in the north, central, south, and east of Taiwan. With the core concept of "the more retro, the more fashionable," it attracts customers of different ages, giving "hot spring bathing" a new life and jointly marketing Taiwan's hot springs, inviting people to come and enjoy the hot springs.
Chairman Ji-Tian Lee of the Hot Spring Tourism Association Taiwan said that Taiwan is a treasure island with diverse tourist attractions and unique characteristics in various regions. In recent years, the Hot Spring Tourism Association has actively marketed Taiwan's hot spring culture internationally to continue promoting the hot spring industry and health development. In April of this year, they exchanged and signed an MOU with the Korean Hot Spring Association, and they specially invited the Korean Hot Spring Association to come to Taiwan to participate in this year's Taiwan Hot Spring Launch Ceremony. They spared no effort to deepen their international presence and hoped to spark new opportunities through international exchanges. This year's Taiwan Good Soup combines retro nostalgia, fashion shows, local craftsmen, and international exchanges, echoing the themes "the more retro, the more fashionable" and "the more local, the more international."

It connects 19 major hot spring areas with the core concept of "the more retro, the more fashionable," breaking the previous impression of hot springs and giving "hot springs" a new life, hoping to attract customers of different ages. Besides continuously updating the Taiwan Hot Springs exclusive website and Facebook, the Administration has activated the LINE@ official account service to respond to the trend of sustainable tourism. In addition to using mobile phones to inquire about travel information for 19 hot spring areas across Taiwan, the Administration also launched a unique LINE@ points discount activity, with 300,000 points available for the public to collect. Starting today, you can earn 100 points by joining the official account of Taiwan Hot Spring Line, and you can use the points to deduct purchases at cooperating stores. Additionally, there is a night discount mechanism from 6 pm to 6 am the next day. The integration of virtual and real will drive hot spring business opportunities.
