Guanziling Lingding Park Music Plaza Newly Reopened! Siraya "Butterfly Playground" Ecological Activity Debuts July 26

Guanziling Lingding Park Music Plaza, after 5 months of renovation, is about to reopen, providing visitors with a safer and more friendly tourism environment! To continue promoting ecological tourism and environmental education, the Siraya National Scenic Area Administration under the Tourism Administration, Ministry of Transportation and Communications, will hold the summer-limited "Butterfly Playground" activity from July 26 to August 24, 2025, every Saturday and Sunday from 9:30 AM to 3:00 PM at Guanziling Lingding Park in Baihe District, Tainan City. This highly acclaimed free parent-child ecological experience includes professional instructors explaining butterfly ecology and fun challenge activities to exchange for souvenirs, and also provides Purple Crow Butterfly tagging experience courses (reservation required), allowing children and adults to personally participate in citizen science, explore butterfly mysteries, and welcome a midsummer ecological feast that combines education with entertainment.
The Siraya National Scenic Area Administration stated that "Butterfly Playground" is an excellent opportunity to learn about butterflies. Additionally, due to recent typhoon damage to butterfly habitats, the first day of this year's activity (7/26) specially features a "Nectar Plant Planting Experience Activity," calling on the public to help restore habitats by personally planting nectar plants, working together to create a more friendly home for Purple Crow Butterflies and practice the spirit of sustainable conservation. Furthermore, to continuously deepen environmental education, each activity day also arranges 2 sessions of "Purple Crow Butterfly Tagging Experience" courses, with professional instructors guiding the public in actual tagging, encouraging families to join citizen science efforts to help collect Purple Crow Butterfly migration routes. To ensure quality of the course, each session is limited to 30 participants, with online reservation registration opening at 9:00 AM on Thursday of the activity week until full (however, if typhoon or heavy rain warnings occur, activities for that day will be cancelled and not rescheduled).
To enhance activity fun and interactivity, this year's activity specially introduces a "Lucky Draw" lottery activity. Just complete challenge tasks and fill out questionnaires for a chance to win Siraya ecological books, butterfly hand-painted coasters, mugs, butterfly-themed souvenirs, and NT$100 consumption vouchers for Guanziling commercial district, among other great prizes (prize items and participating merchants for each session are subject to on-site redemption slips). We welcome the public to experience natural ecology at Guanziling while also exploring the local commercial district, enjoying tourism that combines both ecological and cultural pleasures.

To provide the public with a safer and more friendly recreational environment, this year renovation work was carried out on Lingding Park Music Plaza. In addition to improving the original pavement and drainage facilities, drain covers were comprehensively replaced to create a more accessible environment, allowing every visitor to tour without obstacles. Additionally, the musical score of "Romance in Guanziling" is still preserved on the central floor tiles of the plaza. We welcome the public to come here to not only appreciate the new facilities but also hum along to the musical score, feeling this unique local cultural atmosphere.
