Still wondering where to take the kids this summer to burn off energy and get close to nature? The annual Siraya "Butterfly Amusement Park" is running at Lingding Park in Guanziling every Saturday and Sunday from July 18 to August 16, 2026 (9:30 AM to 3:00 PM)! Summer is the prime butterfly-watching season in Guanziling, and the Siraya National Scenic Area Administration of the Tourism Administration, MOTC invites nature lovers to come experience biodiversity firsthand. In the spirit of reducing carbon emissions, visitors are also encouraged to hop on the Taiwan Tourist Shuttle – Guanziling Route and join the fun.

The Siraya National Scenic Area Administration noted that the event is completely free and open to all, featuring professional ecology instructors on-site to explain the wonders of butterflies and their larvae. Visitors can stroll through the park to admire butterflies dancing through the air, enjoy guided ecology tours, and take part in interactive challenge games to learn about butterfly ecology. This year, the event has also partnered with the Guanziling Commercial District: complete the challenge stations and fill out a survey for a chance to win prizes, including NT$ 100 discount vouchers for the Guanziling Commercial District, Siraya ecology books, butterfly ceramic coasters, butterfly arm sleeves, purple crow butterfly picture books, badges, and mugs!

On each event day, two special "Purple Crow Butterfly Tagging and Release Experience" sessions are scheduled (one at 9:30 AM and another at 10:20 AM, lasting approximately 1.5 hours each). Under the guidance of professional instructors, participants will experience the standard tagging and release process firsthand. Through this hands-on scientific marking, they will discover the vital significance of tracking purple crow butterfly migration routes and become "citizen scientists." To maintain high instruction quality, each tagging and release session is limited to 35 participants (family groups). Registration is available online, opening every Thursday at 9:00 AM of the event week on a first-come, first-served basis.
(In the event of a typhoon or heavy rain warning, that day's activities will be suspended.)

Siraya National Scenic Area Administration Director Hsu Chu-lung noted that in addition to the Butterfly Amusement Park, the Administration is simultaneously launching the "2026 Siraya Summer Chill" series of events from now through August 31. The series features highlights including a cool-summer music night, an Acala-themed street parade, an A-ma character meet-and-greet flash event, and a limited-edition half-day tour package — inviting visitors to step into Guanziling and experience the unique charm of its cool mountain forests and century-old mud hot springs.
