To promote low-carbon, sustainable tourism, the Siraya National Scenic Area Administration, Tourism Administration, MOTC, has launched the "2026 Siraya 5 Reservoirs Cycling" cycling-themed tourism program. Its inaugural tour, the "Lakeside Culture Two-Day Cycling Tour," set off on July 26 and 27, drawing nearly 60 cycling enthusiasts from across Taiwan! During the two-day trip, participants rode the Guanziling route and the classic Lingpo Guantian Line, visited Lingding Park and Wushantou Reservoir, and took in lake-and-mountain views in "Fairyland Blue" while sampling local specialties such as Guanziling Barrel-roasted Chicken and Guantian Thorn Apple Chicken. It was a soothing cycling getaway. From September through November, new themed itineraries will roll out every month, centered on relaxing e-bike rides under the slogan "Every Destination Within Reach!" Those who register will receive a limited-edition event souvenir, and the public is invited to sign up soon to secure a spot!
A cyclist from Taoyuan on the inaugural tour shared that this was his first cycling-themed package tour and his first time riding an e-bike. This fresh way to travel let him enjoy the scenery along the route with ease, making it a rare and joyful experience. The Administration said the follow-up itineraries from September through November will also use e-bikes as a green mode of transport. In addition to passing the five major reservoirs, the routes will extend to the national Mountains to Sea National Greenway and Apo Bay (Grandma's Bay) in Dapu, a challenging destination revered by cyclists. Thanks to e-bike support, casual riders and families with children can also climb with ease and take in Siraya's "Fairyland Blue" reservoir waters and forested mountain scenery. The itinerary also includes a thoughtful premium double-spring experience: after the ride, participants can stay at the one-of-a-kind Guanziling Mud Hot Spring or at Guidan Beauty Hot Spring to wash away fatigue, creating a new "Two Wheels + Two Springs" healing journey that brings together challenge, ecology, and deep relaxation.
Director Hsu Chu-lung of the Siraya National Scenic Area Administration stated that "Siraya 5 Reservoirs Cycling" has gradually built a brand identity for cycling tourism in Siraya. By linking five major reservoirs — Wushantou, Hutoupi, Zengwen, Jianshanpi, and Baihe — it creates a cycling environment that combines natural landscapes, cultural history, ecological education, and recreational sports. Registration is now open for the "5COOL Cycling Rally and South 168 Ride" (September 19 and 20) and the "Cycling 5COOL 188K Challenge" (November 7), and the public is warmly invited to join.
