2026 Siraya Summer Chill
The year's most distinctive and most "chill" summer celebration made its grand appearance! Hosted by the Siraya National Scenic Area Administration, Tourism Administration, MOTC, the "2026 Siraya Summer Chill – Guanziling Acala Theme Street Parade" was held in Guanziling from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM on Friday, August 7. This year's lineup brought together the popular IP brand "Fumeancats," Tourism Administration mascot "OhBear," and Siraya's own "Mud Bear" to lead an irresistibly cute procession, joined by the thunderous drumming of "Fong Tian Taiko" and the "Taiwan Armored Samurai Squad" in full regalia. Together, they created a mountain-town celebration with a rich Japanese matsuri atmosphere, inviting people from across Taiwan to visit Guanziling and experience the unique charm of century-old faith woven together with contemporary IP culture.

Siraya National Scenic Area Administration Director Hsu Chu-lung said Guanziling's Fudo Myoo has been worshipped since 1902, giving it more than a century of history and making it both an important local center of faith and Guanziling's most representative cultural symbol. This year's parade put Fudo Myoo at the center, blending local faith with a diverse lineup of popular IPs to create a procession with visual impact and cultural depth, encouraging more visitors to explore Guanziling and see the richness of Siraya's tourism appeal. Whether they registered in advance or joined on site, visitors were welcome to dress in Fudo Myoo-themed attire and step into the procession to share in the liveliest festival fun of the summer. Along the route, cooling lotus seed popsicles and savory local mushroom tea eggs were prepared, and after the parade, participants could enjoy mango shaved ice from Yujing's well-known Youjian Ice Shop, eating and exploring their way through Guanziling's warm local hospitality.

To accommodate the event, full-route traffic control was implemented from 3:00 PM to 6:30 PM on August 7, covering the route from the Hongye Tunnel entrance to Guanziling's Huaixiang Restaurant. Because parking in the mountain area is limited, drivers were advised to use the parking lots beside and across from Goya Hot Spring Resort & Spa, or to take Chiayi Bus or Singing Bus Co., Ltd. up the mountain early and follow on-site traffic guidance. During the control period, Chiayi Bus Route 7214, Singing Bus Co., Ltd. Routes Huang 12 and Huang 13, and some Taiwan Tourist Shuttle Dongshan Coffee Line services were suspended or rerouted; travelers were advised to check each bus company's website in advance for details.

Beyond the street parade, Siraya Summer Chill kept the excitement going! Registration remains open for the immersive "Guanziling Slow Travel (Afternoon Crafting × Mountain Wandering)" half-day tour, with guests staying at partner accommodations eligible for an exclusive rate of NT$ 1,299 (regularly NT$ 2,500). Through August 9, the "Guanziling Stamp Rally" invited visitors to make purchases at designated partner shops and receive a stamp postcard; those who completed the tasks could redeem limited-time discount coupons and enter a prize draw for gifts including a Nintendo Switch 2. Every weekend through August 9 also featured street performers visiting local shops, while select partner accommodations added a "2+1" offer: two hours of hot spring soaking plus one free extra hour (details as announced by each accommodation). Every Saturday and Sunday through August 16, from 9:30 AM to 3:00 PM, the "Butterfly Amusement Park" event is also taking place at Lingding Park in Guanziling. The fun continues after dark, too! From 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM on August 7, after the parade wrapped up, Wu Jinhuai Music Square at Lingding hosted "Summer Night Stargazing" in partnership with the Tainan Astronomical Education Area, taking visitors from daytime mountain roaming into a night under the stars for a full-day Guanziling summer celebration!

Make Guanziling part of your summer! A spirited daytime street parade, nighttime stargazing, mud hot springs, food and craft experiences, and stamp-rally prize draws all come together to showcase the mountain town's summer appeal.
