Zengwen Reservoir Canyon Concert Takes the Stage November 6-7 — Stay at Designated Accommodations from September 1 for Half-Price Concert Tickets

The Siraya National Scenic Area Administration, Tourism Administration, MOTC held a press conference today (September 1) at the Guantian Visitor Center to promote the "Zengwen Reservoir Canyon Concert." The event featured a special performance by the Dapu Heping Community's "Dapu Philharmonic String Orchestra" from the "Zengwen Reservoir Driftwood Violin Village," whose music kicked off the third "Zengwen Reservoir Canyon Concert," set for November 6 and 7. The administration also announced a half-price accommodation offer for concert-goers, available starting today.
Dapu Township, Chiayi County, sits within the Siraya National Scenic Area, with rich natural scenery and a distinctive cultural heritage. Zengwen Reservoir, Taiwan's largest, is ringed by mountains, where lake and landscape mirror each other to form a natural canyon stage. The local Heping Community has transformed reservoir driftwood into elegant violins, creating the "Zengwen Reservoir Driftwood Violin Village," which received the National Top Ten Tourism Highlights and Best Popularity Award in 2025, followed by the Award of Excellence in the Community Category at the National Environmental Education Awards in 2026.
Siraya National Scenic Area Administration Director Hsu Chu-lung noted that the Zengwen Reservoir Canyon Concert skillfully weaves musical artistry into this magnificent landscape. On opening day, November 6, the concert will feature a special collaboration with the "Ten Drum Art Percussion Group," a recent winner of the 2026 London Design Awards, whose thunderous drumbeats will resound through the canyon. The following day, November 7, the " Ten Drums Cross Metal Band " — known for blending traditional Eastern percussion with modern hard rock — will take the stage, fusing traditional drumming techniques with metal-driven soundscapes. Dozens of black kites can often be seen circling overhead during the performances, making this a waterside musical experience not to be missed in a lifetime!
To offer visitors a deeper, more relaxed experience of the local area, the administration has launched the "Zengwen Reservoir Canyon Concert Exclusive Hotel Offer" starting today. Guests who check in at one of seven designated accommodations — Qutao Manlyu Tainan, Zoumalai Farm, Guidan No. 62 Hot Spring Lodge, Alishan Oriental Pearl International Hotel, Alishan Moon Bay Villa, Miguang Xinlyu B&B, and Yujing B&B — on November 6 or 7 can purchase half-price concert tickets (originally NT$ 999). A companion two-day package tour, "Sound and Drum: A Musical Journey into Zengwen's Hidden Realm," is also available, featuring Yujing Mango Ice, the Golden Buckwheat Discovery Center, the local specialty Fish Head Casserole, a stay at Qutao Manlyu, and a live concert performance. The package is now on sale through online platforms such as KKday.
Beyond visual and auditory delights, the event has brought together 77 partner stores in the local area and surrounding region from September 1 to November 9. Visitors who spend a qualifying amount can enter lucky draws for prizes such as iPads and AirPods. On both concert days, visitors can also enjoy a violin-shaped clock DIY workshop, a livestream, and a photo spot.
