The Siraya National Scenic Area Administration, Tourism Administration, MOTC has launched the " Siraya Family Forest Fun ", inviting local social welfare organizations and kindergarten students to enjoy an easygoing outing aboard the Taiwan Tourist Shuttle Lingpo Guantian Line. The program combines farm fruit picking, creative wild vegetable cuisine, and family theater performances with sustainability and environmental education, helping children connect with nature and the land while turning this charitable initiative into a summer journey full of laughter and discovery.
The itinerary's first stop is Dakeng Leisure Farm, where children become little farmers, picking fruit and connecting with the land while learning about the relationship between food and nature. They discover "where food comes from" and develop an appreciation for environmental care and resource conservation. Lunch features farm specialties made with carefully selected homegrown ingredients, letting everyone experience the natural flavors of "Farm to Table" from picking to tasting, along with the slow pace of rural life.
In the afternoon, the group heads to Guantian Visitor Center, with its spacious lawns and family-friendly spaces, where the renowned Gift Box Theater, previously invited to perform at the Presidential Office Building, presents a delightful children's theater performance. The story conveys the power of "unity" and "happiness," echoing environmental education themes and making sustainability an idea that children can easily put into practice in daily life. The children who joined the farm fruit-picking and theater activities all said they thoroughly enjoyed this special experience.
Director Hsu Chu-lung of the Siraya National Scenic Area Administration said family trips offer a wonderful opportunity for families to explore a place together and create shared memories. Through this collaboration, children are invited outdoors, with the Taiwan Tourist Shuttle Lingpo Guantian Line linking farm experiences, environmental education, and theater performances. Going forward, the administration will continue integrating charity, sustainability education, and tourism across sectors, making tourism more than just "sightseeing"; it can also connect people with the land and spread warmth.
